I strongly oppose this project. High rise buildings have no business in this area. They will stick out and bring unnecessary traffic and strain on resources. This isn't DT Fort Lauderdale or Miami. A similar project already exists less than 2 miles away at Plantation Walk and most of those restaurants are closing and those apts sit mostly vacant. Plantation has already approved 11 other high rise buildings, we don't need another. This is a money grab from the City. NO THANK YOU.

This is not The Gateway Activity Center. This is not Midtown. This is our home and our neighborhoods. This massive project does not fit in with the surrounding community, nor do we need more cars in this already congested area.
Please do not disregard the residents of today in your rush to accommodate the residents of tomorrow.

I concur with Danny Holmes, the Director of Planning, Zoning & Economic Development and Staff, that this "application should be DEFERRED until such time that the applicant can finalize its traffic study and methodology to clarify and include the proposed density utilizing potential affordable housing bonus density provisions in the Comprehensive Plan, and completion of a market study".

I oppose and ask the Board defer (staff recommendation). There are unresolved inconsistencies in unit count (652 vs 1,705 vs 2,200) and traffic impact (-4,950 vs +1,313 trips). I also noticed bonus density is being used to triple the entitlement, yet all affordable units are at a least restrictive tier (80-120%) rather than the under-80% AMI levels staff identifies as the greatest local need. Rush-hour and weekend traffic at Broward/University will worsen under any of these unit counts.

There is no other apartment complex in Broward with this many units. Understood this is a site has 22+ acres but the total number of units is unprecedented in Broward county. The District of Davie will have 1,256 units but four high rise buildings. And that project is in the middle of all commercial usage and down the street from Hard Rock Hotel. That project fits that area. This project, with all single family and condos surrounding it, will stick out like a sore thumb. NO THANK YOU!!!

Existing infrastructure is already overstretched and the additional people and cars will only add to the problems faced by residents every day. Rush hour traffic around Broward and University intersection is already heavy during rush hour and weekend peak times. Adding this development will reduce property values in the adjacent communities instead of adding value to the area. Approving this change would appear as a tax revenue grab from the city.
