I strongly support these zoning changes as they will increase the supply of developable land for housing in Plantation due to reductions in setbacks, increased height, reduced parking requirements, reduced open space requirements, and increased maximum lot coverage, to name a few of the beneficial changes. This will improve development feasibility for parcels located in Plantation sized between .75 acres to 2 acres, especially when affordable housing development is proposed.

Great policy. Everyone should live within walking distance of a grocery store. Everyone should have access to safe, clean, reliable, frequent public transit. Everyone should be able to walk or bike through their city without fearing for their life. Everyone should hear birds chirping instead of loud, droning car traffic noise. Everyone should have air to breathe thats free of toxic fumes. As our population continues to increase, policies like these are only going to get more necessary.

I am in support of the proposed changes. Plantation is an ideal city for families and these changes are important steps towards affordability and sustainability.

Please pass these much needed reforms to reduce traffic and improve walkability in Plantation. Residents have demonstrated through the popularity of the Midtown district that they desperately yearn for spaces in which businesses, offices, restaurants, and residential spaces are in the same location. New transit oriented development can deliver much needed units that will allow older ones to filter down to our lower income population.

This is a policy I strongly support. We should be able to travel using more efficient means of transport, and making cities smaller to facilitate both retail and personal well-being. Further, having less cars would enable more safe transport and less patients at local healthcare centers if given the opportunity to use more efficient, and safer, public transport. We need modern solutions.

As our population continues to increase, policies like these are only going to get more necessary.

I strongly support the proposed zoning changes for Plantation's midtown. Creating a vibrant urban core means prioritizing space for people over cars, providing walkability, and reducing car dependency. Eliminating outdated, arbitrary parking requirements for homes and businesses is a critical step toward building a resilient, thriving community.

This is one of the most positive set of changes that the city could make for its long term future. This will help to make housing more affordable in this city, helping us to keep our employees and our young adults instead of having to move out. This will help to decrease car traffic by promoting walking, biking, and transit use. This will help to cool down the city by reducing the urban heat island effect. This is a win-win for everyone!

This is a set of great ideas which can help move the city into an even more sustainable, connected, and prosperous future, while being mindful of existing resident concerns. Contrary to what "feels" true, parking availability induces traffic, and ensuring that we let real-world data determine the amount of parking provided in future development means we can reclaim space for people, make housing/businesses more affordable, and address drainage/urban heating impacts. Thank you for supporting!
