I support the reconstruction and preservation of the Y Bridge at the Equestrian Center at Volunteer Park.
I would also like to share my support for the grant to refurbish the trails and bridges in this area. Volunteer Park and the Equestrian Center have wonderful trails, but they've been out of commission/unsafe for far too long. This is a worthwhile use of funds to ensure this park space is accessible to residents.
I'm an Acres resident and a mother of 3 kids under 5 years old. I would love to see the bridges get rebuilt so the kids can get easy and safe access to our beautiful trails.
Thank you for the support that you have shown to upkeep our beautiful natural environment at Volunteer Park. I would like to request that the path and the Y bridge is updated and repaired as necessary to maintain a safe area for all to enjoy.
“I support the grant for the reconstruction and preservation of the Y Bridge at the Equestrian Center at Volunteer Park. Those bridges are an oasis, an scape from our stressful urban living! Please vote for the grant!”
As an Acres resident who walks the Equestrian Center grounds and Volunteer Park on an almost daily basis it has been extremely sad to see these bridges in total disrepair for years. I sincerely appreciate this resolution of support for the Florida Recreational Trails Project Grant. It is important to ensure that both the Y and Island Bridges are refurbished and preserved so that our residents can continue to enjoy our little slice of nature within our City.
We need to maintain and restore the Y bridge in Volunteer Park. The Park is vital to the residents of Plantation and we must do everything in our power to beautify our city for the enjoyment of our residents.
The Y Bridge at the Equestrian Trails at Volunteer Park is a beautiful structure that offers residents a peaceful escape from the rush and noise of city life. It allows residents to reconnect with nature and recharge. The tranquil waters of the lake evoke the calming atmosphere of the Florida Everglades. Despite being closed since 2023, this structure remains a cherished part of Volunteer Park. Please preserve our bridge(s) for present and future generations to enjoy.
Thanks go out to Trish O’Toole and her staff for acting on this RTP Grant application. The residents of Plantation love this trail that meanders amongst the natural habitats for so many species. We appreciate the opportunity to correct the bridges to strengthen them for generations to come. Thank you again for prioritizing the needs of your city residents.
I fully support the Grant request for repair of the Y bridge and request additional funding be
sought by the City for the repair of the Island Bridge. I would also suggest engineering investigation in to the latest materials and construction practices to maximize the useful life of the repairs
It's great that some grant money may be available. Hopefully this will allow both the Y bridge and the Island Bridge to be repaired and open again.
