As a sitting member of the Broward County Surtax Oversight Board it is amazing to see ordinances like this be presented. Transit and land use go hand in hand and forward thinking proposals like this will create a multiplier and accelerator effect on transit dollars spent within the area. Which will help build the tax base without imposing traffic or taxes on residents. These smart ordinances being created within Plantation will eventually need to be exported to other Broward municipalities.

I greatly support the language modifications to the City of Plantation zoning code included within this ordinance as they will facilitate the development of much needed affordable housing in the City. Parking and setback requirements are large hurdles affordable housing developers must navigate as they exclude smaller sites from being feasible. These policy changes will increase the development potential of sites for affordable housing that previously would not have been feasible.

We support the proposed initiatives to modernize the City's TOD and parking requirements - among other initiatives - and we applaud staff and elected officials for the energy and analysis they put into this. The City of Plantation has made great strides in recent years; these efforts will further its thoughtful and inclusive growth.

Please pass this! The only way to help the traffic situation is to prioritize walkability and bike infrastructure. It also makes for cleaner air, less noise, fewer injuries/deaths related to traffic violence, and more access to affordable housing.

I love to see this kind of reform that prioritizes people oriented development and not just car centered development. I hope Plantation passes this and other municipalities follow suit so South Floridians can get to experience safe, walk-able, bike-able spaces for daily needs, and it all starts with measures like this one.

I'm showing support for the new potential TOD zones and development along them, this would create a clear vision and identity for the city of Plantation. Also parking requirements are a policy of the past, back when we valued parking but now as a future financially resilient city we need to focus on development and create more benefits for residents becoming a more walk able city. Please pass the ordinance, this would not just make residents happy but create more visitors to the city!

I'm very happy to see an ordinance that prioritizes people over cars, particularly in a place like Plantation. This will do wonders for those of us who don't want to or cannot drive. Please pass this ordinance!

If we really want to make Plantation a more welcoming and walkable city, there's one big item standing in the way: Parking requirements. It's not even spaces with cars in them, but the ones we hardly ever use, wasting space, making places hotter, worse, and less comfortable. All while making development more expensive (meaning, housing costs more and small businesses have a harder time). I support incentivizing development to the tune of this ordinance, while removing parking minimums.

Hello, I'd like to show my support for the removal of off-street parking requirements for the selected areas because they are arbitrary and increase costs for consumers and residents.

Please pass this ordinance to make Plantation a more walkable, accessible city for all users, not just those in a car. Increased density and housing construction can go a long way to alleviating the affordable housing crisis in South Florida. We need all of the help we can get to redevelop underutilized spaces in Plantation into places people want to bike, walk, or use transit. This will eliminate traffic congestion and pollution as well. Pass the ordinance!
